Wishes Rising — Acrylic Painting by Selena Angeles

A glowing paper lantern climbing into a star-scattered night, carrying its quiet wish upward. Selena Angeles bottled that hopeful, weightless moment in reds and golds against the dark. One of a kind — a little light for a dark wall, ready to hang.

The inspiration. Shown in the last photo: sky lanterns rising over a festival at night, the image that started this piece. Where the festival sky is full, Selena chose one single lantern, centered and glowing, painted from below — she did just enough different to make it hers. Inspiration is how art has always been made: one spark, carried forward by another's hand.

Every artist is inspired by something they have seen. Portrait painters are inspired by a beautiful human figure; landscape artists look at a scene and draw it — and sometimes a single photograph holds a whole painting inside it.
