A choker lives close, and this twisted cable choker necklace earns that closeness — fine strands wound around each other like a rope, gold warmth and bright silver turning through the twist together, settling right at the base of the throat where every eye lands first.
DESMOS makes it in Italy, in the Veneto, where the Chrysos S.p.A. workshops have spent generations turning precious metal into chain and little else. The hands there wind the two tones into one continuous cable, check the turn of the twist along its whole run, and finish the ends by hand before the piece is boxed for travel. Mohammed, the rep who looks after the line for us, brought this choker across from Italy, and we picked it for Magnolia because a two-tone piece works with every other metal already in a woman’s jewelry box.
Hold it against its chain cousins and the difference is in the making. A figaro repeats a counted pattern, long link then short ones. A paperclip leaves each oval open and airy. A curb chain flattens its links until they lie like ribbon. This one has no separate links to count at all — its strands are twisted around one another from end to end, so the surface catches light in a fine, moving braid of gold and silver instead of a pattern.
At the throat it feels smooth and close, the cable round against the skin, the two tones shifting as you turn — gold forward one moment, silver the next. It finishes a bare neckline on its own, sits above a pendant worn longer, and goes with gold earrings one day and silver the next without asking you to choose a side.
Here is the piece, plainly: .925 sterling silver with 18K gold plate, made in Italy by DESMOS — the gold tone is that 18K gold plate and the pale tone is the bright sterling itself, twisted together into one cable strand. It closes with a lobster clasp, a short extender chain of small oval links lets you settle the fit, and a small tag stamped DESMOS hangs beside the clasp.
Care is easy and worth the minute: give the cable a wipe with a soft, dry cloth once it comes off, and keep it stored dry, away from perfume, hair spray, and steamy rooms. Remember what the two tones are — 18K gold plate and bright sterling silver side by side — and keep the piece clear of rough surfaces and hard knocks, and both finishes will keep their shine.
At checkout, shipping is calculated. If the fit at your throat is not the one you pictured, returns run 30 days — write to eas@regulsilver.com and we will help you sort it kindly and quickly.
Its family waits in the DESMOS collection of Italian chains, and more close-fitting silver lives among our sterling silver necklaces.
See the two tones under real light at 1455 W Magnolia Ave Suite 109, Fort Worth — open noon to six, Monday through Saturday — and try the clasp at your own throat in the mirror before you decide. Questions first are welcome: write to eas@regulsilver.com and we will answer from the counter.
