Sculptural sterling silver pendant with original hand-painted glass cabochon. Wearable art from Regul Silver's hand painted cabs collection. Shop now Fort Worth.
There are pieces of jewelry, and then there are objects that stop people mid-sentence. This hand-painted glass pendant from Regul Silver collection is the latter.
At its center rests a round glass cabochon that is unlike any stone pulled from the earth — because it was never pulled from the earth at all. A Regul Silver artisan painted it by hand: a cellular lattice of cream, white, and soft iridescent blue, threaded through with golden amber veining that catches and shifts with every angle of light. The pattern recalls crackled opal, the magnified geometry of dragon scales, a cross-section of natural crystal seen under glass. No two are identical. Sealed beneath the dome of the cabochon is an original, unrepeatable work of painted art.
Surrounding that center is where the silverwork earns its keep. The bezel is hand-formed sterling silver — not cast from a mold, but shaped and cut by hand into an irregular crown silhouette that reads as both architectural and organic. Deep oxidized patina fills the recessed areas while the raised edges flash bright, producing a contrast that makes the frame look like it was carved from old Western landscape: shadow and sun at the same time. The pendant hangs from a delicate sterling silver chain that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs.
On display for purchase in Fort Worth, Texas, this piece is part of a limited collection. It belongs in permanent rotation, in a jewelry collection the gets passed down, or on the wall of a boutique that values art over inventory
