Some stones sit quiet until the light moves across them - this sterling silver oval labradorite necklace holds one large oval stone that answers a turn of the head with blue-green fire, glowing up out of its gray-green depths and then settling again as you move on.
The necklace is handcrafted for Regul Silver, our own Fort Worth line: the oval stone is seated in a solid sterling silver frame, worked around with a rope and beaded edge that catches its own light in small bright points, hung from a clean bail on the elongated link chain the photos show - the 18-inch chain the record carries, included and ready to wear.
Set it beside a clean silver pendant and the difference is the stone itself: clean silver gives you shine and nothing behind it, while this oval gives you weather - gray-green one moment, lit blue-green the next. Beside a turquoise pendant it is the quieter sister, trading bright sky color for a changeable glow that rewards a second look.
It is made for the woman who likes her western silver with a little mystery in it - worn with a white shirt and jeans at the market, a black dress after dark, a denim jacket in between. The frame keeps it rooted in western ground; the fire in the stone lifts it, soft and radiant, every time the light finds it.
Here are the facts, exactly as the record carries them: sterling silver; genuine labradorite, one large oval stone, as the photos show; rope and beaded bezel edge; western and bohemian style; an 18-inch chain included; price $175.00; stock number GN3169. The record carries no weight and no pendant measurements for this piece, so none are stated here. The piece is ours - Regul Silver, Fort Worth.
Labradorite sets its own care rules, and they are gentle ones: wipe the stone and the silver with a soft, dry cloth, keep the necklace dry, and store it apart so harder pieces do not mark the stone. Said plainly, the honest part: the fire lives in planes inside the stone, so it shows strongest at an angle and the stone reads quiet gray-green in flat light, and fine internal lines can show inside the stone when the fire is lit; that is how labradorite is built, and it is the character of this stone, not a flaw to polish away.
From our Fort Worth studio your necklace travels packed snug for the trip, with shipping figured at checkout. If the necklace reaches you and is not right - the fire, the frame, the drape - email eas@regulsilver.com within 30 days of delivery and we will take it back and make it right.
More stone and silver waits nearby: the Gemstone Jewelry shelf holds this necklace's company, and the Necklaces collection carries the wider necklace family.
