Deep black, smooth as still water at midnight — this oval obsidian pendant holds one wide black stone in a bright sterling silver frame, the stone’s polished face catching a single point of light while the silver around it glitters in rows of tiny beads.

This necklace is Regul Silver, our own Fort Worth line. The oval stone sits in a sterling silver bezel worked with a double beaded edge — two rows of fine silver beads running the whole way around the frame — and the pendant hangs from a strand hand strung with sterling silver pearls alternating with smaller black obsidian beads, silver and black trading places all the way up, as the photos show.

Set it beside a turquoise pendant and the difference is the mood. Turquoise brings the bright sky with it; this black stone brings the night ground — steady, deep, and calm against the silver’s shine. Beside a clean silver chain necklace the difference runs the other way: a chain alone gives a clean line and stops there, while the beaded frame and the alternating strand give this piece its weight of detail before the stone itself says a word.

It is made for the woman who wears black like a signature: the wide oval rests at the center of the strand and holds an outfit the way a good hat holds a look — with denim and a white shirt at the market, with a black dress after dark, rooted in western ground and radiant where the polished stone and bright beads catch the light together.

Here are its facts, exactly as its record carries them: sterling silver; an obsidian stone of approximately 17 by 33 millimeters; a double beaded edge around the bezel; western style; a strand hand strung with sterling and obsidian pearls; price $598.00; stock number D03. The record names the piece made to order, and a single one stands counted today at Regul Boutique in Fort Worth, with zero counted at the store’s other two locations. The record carries no strand length and no weight in grams for this piece, so none is stated here; its inventory measurement reads 0.1 ounces, stated exactly as it stands.

Obsidian sets its own care rules, and they are gentle ones: wipe the stone and the silver with a soft, dry cloth, keep the necklace dry and away from perfume and sprays, and store it apart so harder pieces do not mark the polished face. Said plainly, the honest part: a polished black stone shows light the way still water does — bright reflections ride across it in every photo, and fine dust and fingerprints show on its face sooner than on a paler stone; a soft cloth takes them off, and that sheen is the stone’s character, not a flaw.

From our Fort Worth bench your necklace travels packed snug for the trip, with shipping figured at checkout. If it reaches you and is not right — the stone, the frame, the hang of the pendant — write to eas@regulsilver.com within 30 days and we will take it back and make it right.

More of the same family waits nearby: the Gemstone Jewelry shelf holds this necklace’s company in stone and silver, and the Necklaces collection carries the wider necklace family.
