Blue-green stone with room to swing — this turquoise lariat necklace lays genuine turquoise stones in sterling silver down the front of you, each stone set in its own bezel and linked to the next, with the longest stone falling in a drop below the center.
The necklace belongs to Regul Silver, our own line here in Fort Worth, and it is handcrafted the slow way: every stone is hand-set in its own bezel, and the bezels are linked one to another by hand, so the necklace drapes and sways instead of standing stiff. A hook clasp closes it at the back of the neck, the way western lariats have closed for generations.
Set it beside the other shapes on the necklace shelf and its character shows fast. A pendant hangs from a chain and stays where it lands; a collar piece circles the throat and holds its line. A lariat does different work: the stones run down the center of you and the drop moves when you move, so the piece keeps catching the light — and every eye in the room — all day long.
Worn, it is the necklace that finishes an outfit without a second thought. Over a chambray shirt it reads pure cowgirl; over black at supper it turns quiet and rich; with a dress on Sunday it can carry the whole look on its own. The blue-green stones sit right where everyone can see them, rooted and radiant at once.
Here are its facts, exactly as its record carries them: solid sterling silver (.925 — the stamp shows on the back of the center stone’s plate in its photos); genuine turquoise, hand-set, eight or nine stones to a necklace across the neckline and the drop, as its photos show, in square, oval, and mixed cuts; lariat style with a hook clasp; 18-inch length; drop options of 3, 3.5, and 4 inches. It stands in two weights on the record: approximately 55 to 65 grams (stock numbers 690, 691, and 692) at $828.00, and approximately 100 to 110 grams (stock numbers 693, 694, and 695) at $1,794.00, with quantity 1 standing in each of the six at our Fort Worth boutique.
Care is easy, and turquoise sets the rules: a soft, dry cloth for the stones, the silver polished on its own, and the necklace kept dry and away from perfume, sprays, and water — never acetone, never baking soda, both of which can ruin turquoise. Said plainly, the honest part: real stones vary. These run blue-green to green with brown and gold matrix through them, no two alike, and the silver carries small marks from the hands that built it.
The necklace ships from Fort Worth, packed with care for the road, with shipping figured at checkout. If it reaches you and is not right — the weight, the drop, the shade of the stones — write to regulsilver@gmail.com within 30 days and we will take it back and make it right.
The wider shelf waits too: browse the Turquoise Necklaces shelf this necklace keeps company on, or wander the whole Turquoise Jewelry collection, where the rest of the stone’s story lives.
See the necklace in person at 1455 W Magnolia Ave, Suite 109, Fort Worth — open noon to six, Monday through Saturday — or write to regulsilver@gmail.com and we will answer about this very necklace, with fresh photos if you want them.
